Whacked Out News: Angry Saudi boy Doesn't get a Playstation, Busts a Cap in Daddy.

Daddy can I show you how to do a one-hit-kill? 30,000 Points!
Holy Mecca! Now there's no question that their's a major issue with the kiddos these days. Their sense of entitlement is so out of whack, it's enough to make you go on a back-of-the-head slapping rampage. In these days of excess and instant gratification, people are impatient when they don't get what they want, when they want it. And this is especially the case with children. And looking at this news tidbit, it transcends race, nationality and culture.

An angry four-year-old Saudi boy shot and killed his father for refusing to buy him a PlayStation, Saudi media reported on Monday.

The Asharq daily, citing police in the southern Jizan area, said the child, aged four years and seven months, grabbed his father's pistol and shot him in the head.
According to the newspaper, the child had asked his father to buy him a PlayStation and the shooting took place after the man returned home without the desired object.
As he was undressing, the man put the weapon down, which the child then grabbed and fired at him from close range.

Sad to say the least especially in the land where Islam got its start. What happens to the days of actually earning what you want? Putting in the work? Giving kids the choice of either a little money every week and giving them the choice to spend it right then and there for candy and tiny fleeting objects or to choose to invest it for something they REALLY REALLY WANT?

My brothers and I wanted a Playstation 2 when we were younger and my parents were broke as crap. I didn't expect my dad, who works himself to the bone just to put food on the table, go and spend a hard earned 300 bucks to please my gaming fix. So what did I do? Saved up my lunch money like a fiend. And with a little bit of patience and perserverence, I got me a PS2. When I wanted those 50 dollar games, the same thing! That was before I had a job or anything. And it seems like that was something from ancient times judging by what happens now.

Parents are going in debt just to shut their whining kids mouths with all the latest gadgets and toys. And when they get what they were blubbering about, they don't even appreciate it and it breaks or gets lost or something. Now my parents didn't have the money but even if parents do, that shouldn't mean they don't teach their children the value of investing towards a goal, and working to earn up what they want. It's a recipe for disaster.

So parents and parents-to-be, be wise with your kids. Teach them the concept of investing and of patience. Show them the value of hard work and being grateful for what you have. If not for the sake of having them be upright individuals when they grow up, do it for the sake of them not pulling a .9 millimeter glock on you!
